Our Tenant Committee
Our tenant committee is a group of people who come together to tell us what they think about our services. They help us do better and make sure our tenants are happy in their homes.
Over the past few months, the Tenant Committee has discussed a number of issues, including good meeting behaviour, jargon language, and updates on repairs. Here is a summary and key .
Committee member
An RWP tenant (or advocate) who tells us what they think about our services as a landlord and who helps us make strategic decisions.
Good meeting behaviour
The RWP tenant committee has discussed how to take part in a good meeting. In a recent meeting, the committee members were presented with a poster about holding good meetings. It lists the good meeting behaviours that , including how to prepare for meetings, behaviours within meetings and how to support outside of meetings.
Jargon language
Tenant committee members are encouraged to query language. In a recent meeting, the members looked at the term ‘stock summary’ which is an example of jargon language. They discussed the meaning of ‘stock summary’. Stock is a term used within the sector to refer to the homes owned by the organisation. A stock summary is an overview of the homes that RWP owns.
Repairs update
Tenant committee members have been involved with the recruitment of . These are people who visit your home to carry out repairs. The members gave their feedback on a summary of the suggestions made for an improved repairs service in a previous meeting, and they have heard how this feedback has been included in the criteria set for potential new repairs contractors.
They also received update on how we will recruit the repairs contractors, which contractors would like to work with us and when we will meet with them to talk about the work.
As well as quarterly committee meetings, our tenant representative members can attend our monthly insight sessions.
These sessions enable them to gain a greater understanding of our work as a landlord and feel more informed. For example, we’ve covered our RAMP customer service model and performance reporting.
