Cleaning

We may be responsible for the cleaning of the communal areas of the property.  Internal communal areas are those shared with and accessed by multiple tenants, such as:

  • Sitting rooms/lounges
  • Dining rooms
  • Utility rooms
  • Halls, stairs and landings
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms

You can check who is responsible by looking at a tenancy agreement or a rent schedule for the scheme.  If we are responsible, then the service will be added as a service charge to the tenants who live there towards covering the cost.

Cleaning - common questions

What type of cleaning can I expect to be done?
Where RWP are responsible for the cleaning service, we will instruct an external company to carry that out for us. All contractors must go through a thorough vetting process and are provided with a list of things we expect them to do.

You can expect cleaners employed by us to:

• Clean of internal and external communal areas
• Check and clean communal light fittings
• Clean walls, windows and doors
• Clean internal bin stores
• Clean and deodorise lifts

Cleaning contractors are not able to:

• Clean individual spaces for that are for the use of one tenant only
• Clean hazardous materials – a specialist clean may need to be instructed and should be reported to us immediately
