A safe and supportive environment for our tenants
Latest news
RWP housing officer Louise supported tenants to move into a newly refurbished home in Surrey, in partnership with the Kingston Adult Social Services Commissioning team.
Our supported living property in Surbiton required extensive repair work and adaptations to meet the needs of tenants Emma, Eleanor, Emma, and Lindsay before they could move in. We carried out the refurbishment in partnership with Kingston Adult Social Services Commissioning team to facilitate the move. The tenants have known each other since meeting at school and are extremely happy with their new home. Staff from EnhanceAble will be supporting them.
RWP housing officer Louise helped to support the tenants' move and she explains why it has been such a success.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see new tenants move into their new home. There has been a period of extensive work carried out including decorating and flooring. We have worked in partnership with Kingston Council adult social services Commissioning Team and EnhanceAble to make this happen.”
Louise goes on to say: “This isn’t just about providing a place to stay — it's about offering a safe, supportive environment where our tenants can thrive, build independence, and feel truly at home. Each new tenant brings something special, contributing to a strong, caring home. The young ladies have been friends for a long time and get on really well. This is their first time moving away from their families, and although a little apprehensive they are delighted with their new home and the independence this will give them. I look forward to visiting and carrying out my annual review once they are settled.”
New flooring installed and rooms decorated
We worked closely with the owner of the property regarding the carpet. The owner chose the carpet from flooring contractor John Lords who talked through the available options. Once the property was decorated, the carpets were chosen to match the décor. Our tenants were given access to the property a few weeks before they moved in and signed up, so that they could personalise their rooms and choose the colours they wanted. “The tenants and their families really appreciated this time to get their rooms to how they wanted them to be,” says Louise.
