Preston Pride: tenant David supports Pride

Latest news

RWP tenant David attended the Pride event in Preston with LAPSS to network with related organisations and support his colleagues as an ally.

Straight ally supporter for LGBTQ+ community

“I am proud to share that I've been a straight ally supporter for the LGBTQ+ community for many years. I have also seen LGBTQ+ Prides as valuable networking opportunities to meet and hopefully later collaborate with related organisations in future events. Over many years I have worked with colleagues who are from the LGBTQ community as well as many close friends too. My friends who are part of the LGBTQ+ community are not different to any other colleague or friend, and I am glad to have them in my life.

Preston Pride with LAPSS

Lancashire Autism Peer & Self Advocacy Service (LAPSS) made its debut at Preston Pride in 2023 and it was so successful that it was only natural that we would attend again in 2024. I was happy to learn that the Pride in Progress Network was going to take part in the Parade, and so I joined in with my colleagues on the day. I helped to hold the "Preston Typhoons" RUFC banner with my colleagues during the Pride event. It was a very enjoyable day and we all look ahead to this year's Pride season,” says David.
