Safeguarding process for RWP housing officers

Latest news

RWP housing officer Louise shares how she works in partnership with internal teams, local authorities, and external agencies in order to keep tenants safe.

At Progress Housing Group, which RWP is part of, a robust safeguarding process is in place. Professional practice is always followed by housing officers when a safeguarding concern is raised.

Below RWP housing officer Louise outlines what the safeguarding process looks like for RWP housing officers.

What is the safeguarding process at RWP? Here is an example of safeguarding our tenants.

  1. An RWP contractor raises a safeguarding concern about support provider staff at an RWP supported living home.
  2. RWP housing officer raises the concern with the local authority’s safeguarding team.
  3. Details of the safeguarding concern are shared with Progress Housing Group’s safeguarding team mailbox. This is necessary as this allows the Group to monitor the  number of safeguarding concerns raised.
  4. RWP housing officer sends any updates and the final response from the local authority regarding the safeguarding concern to the safeguarding mailbox.
  5. Update from case worker with action taken is shared with RWP housing officer. Action taken is sent to the safeguarding mailbox.
