Meet Tony

Tony lives in one of our supported living homes in Nottingham. He shares his home with Richard and his family live nearby in Nottingham.

RWP housing officer Cheryl visits Tony at his home and they talk about his recovery after an eye operation, the social activities that he takes part in, and work that has been completed in his bedroom.

Support with cooking and shopping

Support staff from Eden Futures help Tony with cooking, planning meals, and cleaning. He has been recovering from an eye operation, so his support worker Alex has been providing additional support as Tony is unable to leave his home during his recovery. Tony says: “I go shopping on a Tuesday, but I can't go at the moment and staff have to do it for me. Alex has been shopping for me yesterday.

“I cooked with Alex yesterday - we cooked vegetable pasta and sausage. I have one to one time with Casito.”

Decorating his bedroom

Tony shares his home with Richard, and they have both recently had their rooms decorated. RWP housing officer Cheryl and Tony talk about the new flooring, furniture, and TV in his room. Cheryl runs through the new fittings: “You have had red carpet fitted, a wardrobe and a black chest of drawers.” Tony is pleased with his new bedroom and adds: “I got the small cabinet door and 50-inch TV.” Tony also had a new door fitted for his bedroom to repair a broken door frame.

Local community

Tony enjoys spending time in the local community with housemate Richard, including trips to the local pub and chatting with the bar staff. “I go to the pub with Richard, and we will buy each other drinks sometimes. My favourite drink is coke with no ice,” says Tony. Tony also attends the day centre and goes to a health centre for a massage every four to six weeks.
